Problem to be solved

The subject : Training to carry out a procedure to manage floods on a hydroelectric dam and to make decisions in stressful situations.

The request :

– To propose a “behavioural” complement to the classic training approach.

– To be able to interface with their existing flooding software.

– Recreate the flood management process in a typical dam to become aware of the impact of stress on decision-making capacity.

Solution

Flood Simulator VR allows you to live flood management on a Hydroelectric dam that focused on the behavioral aspect.

You can go everywhere on the site, Interact with the control panel, Operate evacuation valves, Use the right documents, Manage the generator and the fuel tanks’ level, Climb on to evacuation valves tower and so on …

Usualy the training is done with a small group and the trainer. They have a video feedback of everything the learner does. Everybody can learn from his mistakes.

The trainer can challenge the learner by triggering events.

he can change the weather, night and day cycle, level fuel in the tanks and the water in the valley, turn off the power, simulate a phone call, it’s endless !

By interfacing with their flooding software, all the actions carried out in the VR and the hydraulic data obtained are retranscribed into their existing software (SIMBA).

Success case. Results

Testimony of our partner EDF Hydro :

“All the presentations are a hit, and the people who find themselves in the environment can’t believe their eyes! […] Your investment has been relentless during the development and your culture of the result made it possible to overcome the difficulties. […] Your support on pedagogical aspects and your involvement in the profession have allowed to bring a large number of answers as to the usefulness and use of Reality Virtual in training, more than just a game!”
